This substantial weight reduction minimizes the rotating inertia of the belt train, enabling the engine to accelerate faster, especially noticeable in the lower RPM range before the turbo spools up. Similar to a lightened flywheel effect, the reduced weight ensures optimal power utilization at lower RPMs.

Furthermore, the under-driving feature contributes to additional power gains by reducing the crank pulley size, slowing down accessories, and decreasing the driven load at high RPM. This adjustment does not compromise accessory efficiency between idle and 1400RPM, preventing any impact on battery charging or power steering. As RPMs increase, the under-driving proportionally reduces wasted power, resulting in remarkable power gains without increasing boost levels.

For an in-depth comparison, the Atomic Boost Controller was tested on an MY02 Subaru WRX with a turbo-back exhaust against the factory controller.
